PARTICIPATING MEN’S HOCKEY TEAMS:
University of Minnesota – Golden Gophers
University of Minnesota Duluth – Bulldogs
Minnesota State University Mankato – Mavericks
St. Cloud State University – Huskies
DETERMINING THE WINNER:
The winner of the 2007-08 DQ Cup will be the team with the highest winning percentage of DQ Cup games among the four participating teams. Every regular season game played between the four participating teams will count in the season long tournament.
TIE BREAKER SYSTEM:
If, at the end of the regular season, there is tie for the highest winning percentage, then a tie breaker will determine the ultimate winner of the DQ Cup. Tie breakers will be as follows (followed in order, as necessary):
- The team with the highest number of 2007-08 regular season WCHA points earned.
- The team with the most "Goals For" during the 2007-08 WCHA regular season.
- The team with the highest number of "Goals For" during all games (conference and non-conference) during the time period from October 19, 2007 to March 10, 2008. If the tie cannot be broken with the first tie breaker, then the second tie breaker and third tie breakers shall be used sequentially. Official stats will be taken from www.collegehockeystats.net.
PRESENTATION OF TROPHY TO WINNER:
The DQ Cup traveling trophy will be presented to the winning team upon the conclusion of the 2007-08 DQ Cup season. Exact time, date and venue for trophy presentation will be determined at a later date. The winning team may keep the DQ Cup on display until the conclusion of the following year’s hockey season.
